Bishop Sterling V. Porter, III is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. Receiving his early education in the Anne Arundel County Public School System, he is a graduate of the Yorktowne Business Institute in the field of Computer Technology and attended Anne Arundel Community College. He was employed as a Senior Programmer Analyst for the Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust Company in Linthicum, Maryland before entering into full-time ministry.

Bishop Porter received his spiritual nurturing at the Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God International, Inc. in Annapolis, Maryland under the leadership of its founder, Bishop Wilbert L. Baltimore. Serving this ministry in many capacities, he also served as a pianist, organist, and choral director for several choirs in the Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington Metropolitan areas.

Bishop Porter was appointed as a Presiding Elder in his churches parent body, King’s Apostle Church Of God, Inc., in 1995. Because he chose to "despise not the day of small beginnings," he steadfastly under girded the visionary and functioned in a Spirit of Excellence. In August of 1998, he was appointed as the National Field Supervisor for the General Church. He accepted the call as Senior Pastor of Baltimore Temple (now known as Kingdom Life Cathedral) in Ranson, West Virginia in November 1999. This congregation is serious about their mission to share the gospel to all mankind, while birthing a People of Purpose, Passion, and Power. The congregation has acquired a 10-acre tract of land and currently is in their design stages to build a campus to house the multi-facet ministry that God has given them.

Bishop Porter was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop in July 2001 and was appointed as Diocesan Bishop of the Second Episcopal Diocese of Kings Apostle Church World Ministries, Inc., encompassing churches within the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. In July 2003, Bishop Porter was elevated to the office of 1st Vice Bishop. An anointed preacher, teacher, instructor, and counselor, Bishop Porter received his biblical studies at the Washington Bible College. He later received his Associate of Arts degree from Logos University. He continued on to receive his Bachelors of Arts in Theology, Masters of Theology, and Doctorate of Theology from the North Carolina College of Theology.

Bishop Porter travels extensively to cities all over the United States sharing the Gospel. In addition, he has been honored and favored by God to have the opportunity to preach in cities of Panama. His greatest joy is seeing men and women come unto the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. His mission is to extend the Kingdom of God, and fulfill the purpose that God had preordained for him. His message to mankind is found in the passage John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The Lord has blessed Bishop Porter to share in ministry with his lovely wife Dr. Yvette L. Porter along with many spiritual sons and daughters they have embraced and received into their family.
